Music Styles Taught: Classical, Musical Theatre, Gospel, Piano and Theory

Availability: Bel Canto is open Monday to Friday 9AM to 7PM. I love working with Prep School Students, College Students, Young Artists, and Adults improving their skills. I am currently accepting private students; I offer lessons in a group environment; I am available as a performer, clinician or presenter. I also accept students through a college or university program

Suzanne is the Director of Bel Canto Studios of Palm Beach where she teaches piano and voice to students of all musical styles. She has maintained simultaneous careers in college teaching, prep school teaching, opera performance and musical theater performance throughout her career. She holds a degree in Music and Elementary teaching from Hope College in Holland, Michigan with composite minors in French, English, and Theater. She also holds Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Vocal Performance due to combined graduate studies and full scholarships at Indiana University at Bloomington and at The State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Suzanne's dreams have always been to be an operatic and musical theater performer and to teach those subjects. Suzanne made her European debut as the Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute with the Rome Festival in Italy. She was a regional finalist in The Metropolitan Opera Competition, won a prize with Queen's Opera (NYC), and was a national finalist in the Chicago Lyric Auditions. Versatile in many styles, she has also performed in several musicals including Glinda the Good Witch in Wizard of Oz, and Anna in The King and I. She won first place with the New York Vocal Artists in New York City, representing them over ten times at Carnegie Recital Hall and Columbia Artists Hall. While maintaining teaching and church careers, Suzanne has performed roles with Indianapolis Opera, Cincinnati Opera (OH), The Lake Charles Symphony (Louisiana), Shreveport Opera (Louisiana), Midland-Odessa Symphony (Texas), Opera Company of the Hamptons (NY), and New Rochelle Opera (NJ). As well as the Queen's Opera Contest (NY). Here in Palm Beach, Suzanne has performed solos with the Robert Sharon Chorale, Indian River Orchestra, Masterworks Chorale, Choral Society of the Palm Beaches, Lost Tree Chapel, and Bethesda by the Sea.
