Welcome to Bel Canto Studios of Palm Beach
Bel Canto Studios was founded in 2000 at the beachside resort town of Manistee, Michigan. Bel Canto students performed there at the historic Ramsdell Theatre. Considered to be a revolutionary idea at the time, Dr. Suzanne Galer began blending musical theater, opera, jazz, pop-rock, gospel, and many other styles. All the styles are unified by healthy technique and a positive attitude.
"Education should be the process of helping everyone to develop his uniqueness, to teach him how to develop his uniqueness, and then to show him how to share it. That’s the only reason for having anything."
– Leo Buscaglia

American Songbook - All United by Healthy Technique, and Love of Singing
Bel Canto Singers perform in area Broadway Productions including musicals at the Kravis Center, Lake Worth Playhouse, Jupiter High, Treasure Coast Theater, Palm Beach Day Academy, Saint Ann’s, Palm Beach High School, Sun Coast, Disney, and many more venues. Yes, we are fans of Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Lin Manuel Miranda.
Classical Singers and Pianists
While Dr. Galer tries to be chill and loves the energy and creativity of 20th and 21st century music of all kinds, her first dream to be an opera singer came true! With a career in opera and musical theater, a doctorate and master’s degree in vocal performance, classical music
performance is Suzanne Galer’s primary area of expertise.
We Are Dreamers! Spirited Young Singers and Pianists at Bel Canto
Our Prep School Students attend Bak, Dreyfus, Palm Beach Day Academy, St Ann’s, Oxbridge, Benjamin, Rosarian, St. Anne’s, American Heritage, Suncoast, and many more. Some of our Bel Canto students and piano students already have professional careers when they arrive and we help them brush up. Location: Shop while they learn
We are located directly across from the back entrance to the Palm Beach Outlet Mall in the non-gated area of Lands of the Presidents. We are the second driveway on the left. Please park on either side of the bright green pylon. Our address is 1623 Embassy Drive #102,
Embassy Drive, West Palm Beach, Florida, 33401.
The Positive Atmosphere of Bel Canto Studios
While waiting, people, parents, and children sometimes avail themselves of the Palm Beach Outlet Mall, Target, Whole Foods, and other fun places. Some families go outside and read in the Florida Room. Parents, friends, and family may sometimes stay in the music room if their child or singer is comfortable with that. We have a black cat, Spot (yes, Spot has a white spot on his chest!). We are also working on transitioning another cat, Angelo, inside to become Spot's brother.
“Like a musical cottage- books and music everywhere!” - Nancy Selca
Snowbirds, Seniors, and Life Long Learners
Our Snowbirds, Seniors, and Life Long Learners know how to celebrate life! We have seniors auditioning and getting called back for America’s Got Talent, The Voice, and local musicals. Our Life Long Learner Carol Stoltz just finished a vocal degree at Palm Beach State College after other careers as a mother, a nurse, and then as a Subway Franchise owner and manager. We have Snowbirds from New York City, Finland, New Jersey who then study by zoom in the off-season. We have remote learners from Los Angeles, Washington, Louisiana, Port Saint Lucy and other cities.
A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Suzanne is married to Brian Wert. Brian works for the Florida Atlantic University library and Suzanne is an adjunct professor of voice at Palm Beach State. Brian is from Marion, Indiana, and they met while Suzanne was professor of voice and opera at Indiana Wesleyan University near Indianapolis. They reside in West Palm Beach and enjoy the beaches, gardening, cooking, art museums, reading; attending operas and enjoying Broadway performances at the Kravis Center.
